Raising the Roof With Home Depot

Home Depot, one of the nation's largest home improvement stores, had found the right building and location for expanding their presence in Des Moines. Unfortunately, the existing building didn't have enough height. The Hansen Company, Inc. was up to the challenge.

We elevated 50,000 square feet of existing roof structure by five feet. Then, we removed 100,000 square feet of the floor and replaced it with a thicker slab. By retrofitting an existing structure, Home Depot saved a great deal over the cost of building an entirely new facility. We also built a 10,000 square-foot Garden Center. We also recently completed a second, more conventional, new store in Ankeny, Iowa.
