Renovating for Then and Now

The State of Iowa needed a construction partner capable of providing comprehensive Construction Management services as part of an overall team. They chose The Hansen Company, Inc., who joint ventured with the Christman Company from Michigan, for their expertise in historic renovation.

Operation Bold Move is a massive project involving the renovation of both the Lucas and Old State Historical Buildings.

The Old State Historical Building is undergoing a complete interior and exterior restoration. Featured exterior renovations include new windows as well as the cleaning and repair or replacement of terra cotta banding and limestone. Inside, elaborate mosaic floors and decorative murals will be restored. New heating and cooling as well as fire protection systems will also be installed.
