Hansen
Company is renovating and expanding Homemaker's Furniture’s
main store to make Iowa's largest furniture retailer even larger!
The expansion is expected to take twenty-four months and will
increase the store's display area by 35,000 square feet to
a total of 210,000 square feet, and double its adjoining warehouse. The
footprint is so large that helicopters are being utilized to
bring equipment to the center of the rooftop. The interior
will also be completely remodeled and the exterior reconfigured.
Customers will be treated to the latest in interactive areas,
point-of-sale displays, dream rooms, and much more. Plus, a
state-of-the-art, drive-through customer pick-up area will
service customers quickly and efficiently. Outside, 500 new
parking spots will await. To keep a business as usual atmosphere
for shoppers, the construction will be done in four phases.
When complete, the addition and renovation will accommodate
a 50% increase in business. The expansion here will add 80
to 100 jobs in sales, warehousing and administration.
