For
many years, Polk County has expressed an interest in reducing
leased space obligations for housing various Polk County offices
and services. The County secured the former Oliver Plaza at
2309 – 2339 Euclid Avenue in Des Moines to satisfy that
need. The following departments/units will be moving into the
space formerly housing the Target store and warehouse: Supplemental
Foods, Crisis & Advocacy Services, DHS (located at City
View), Sheriff Standards and Training, Family Enrichment Center,
Veteran Affairs, Sheriff Civil and Administration, Juvenile
Court Officers, Sheriff Weapon Permits, and General Services.
When occupied, there will be nearly 350 employees working on
site. To support their efforts, Mail Services, Central Stores
and support from General Services department will be housed
at Oliver Plaza – making it one of the largest county
office buildings in Polk County.
A curved, canted Stackwall
Vision Vue Wall System will be the focal point of the project
and be unlike anything built in the state of Iowa. When complete
this feature will be over 200’ long and 25 ‘ tall
and transform the once big box retail store into a contemporary
Class A Office Space.
