First of its kind Kum&Go opens its doors on May 27
The Hansen Company is proud to announce the grand opening of our latest project for Kum&Go. This walk up store in the Edna Griffin Building in downtown Des Moines is the first of its kind for the Des Moines-based convenience store. Kum&Go’s pioneering new location is a departure from its standard convenience store model which exists as a fuel-based retailer. Located in the newly renovated Edna Griffin Building, it is intended to be driven by foot-traffic rather than the automobile.
Kum&Go was very intentional about this location and its deeper meaning to our community. Edna Griffin, also known as Iowa’s Rosa Parks, was one of the state’s most well-known Civil Rights Activist. She paved the way for many other marginalized and disenfranchised people over the course of her life, challenging and motivating people to think differently. To learn more about this project and the life of Edna Griffin; check out related articles and reports on WHO, KCCI, Des Moines Register and the Des Moines Business Record. We hope you enjoy and support Kum&Go’s newest location and concept in downtown Des Moines.
