About the project
Vertical expansions are challenging construction projects. Hence, when the Community Foundation of Greater Des Moines identified the one-story building behind its corporate headquarters as the ideal location for its new “C3 Center”, the decision to add a second level to the 70-year-old structure was not taken lightly.
The C3 Center, a central facility for community and non-profit organizations, provides a versatile space accommodating up to 75 individuals for gatherings, training, presentations, and learning. With new office space, a boardroom, and a community room suitable for in-person and virtual events, the center fosters collaboration and social capital among non-profits serving the community.
The project extended beyond functionality, creating a unified “campus” atmosphere by connecting the two buildings with an outdoor plaza and event space. We are honored to have contributed to this transformative project benefitting the Des Moines community.
