About the project
The Berg Middle School was a significant investment by the community of Newton. With a 165,000 square foot new facility, new football field and track, new parking and drive lanes; the middle school was built with the future in mind. A modern design and layout are hallmarks of this new school including an abundance of natural light, high ceilings, second floor view corridors to the student center below, a grand staircase and bright materials such as polished concrete, wood and solid surface. Outside of the visible improvements, less noticeable but equally impressive features include the interactive technology incorporated into the school as well as geothermal energy, skylights and 100 percent LED lighting.
