About the project
The Hansen Company was proud to play a major role in a project which evoked so much community pride at North High School in Des Moines. The revitalization of this iconic landmark and field involved more than just high school sports. The Major League Baseball Hall of Fame recognizes North High Field as the location of the event that revolutionized professional baseball in 1930 with the first ever night game played under lights. With this historic designation in mind, North High began a campaign to restore the field to its former glory. Construction included a 2,500 seat stadium, concession stands, press box, team rooms, restrooms, coaches and officials areas, storage, scoreboard, ticket booth/entry plaza and many site improvements.
