Craig Faber comes from a family of construction industry veterans. His father and many extended family members have been involved in construction companies in Iowa and Colorado. Craig became interested in the construction industry at a young age as he traveled to construction sites with his dad, Vern who served as a superintendent and construction manager for over 50 years. Tagging along to jobsites affectionately earned Craig the title “The Weekend Foreman” by the many field workers that he came across at a young age. This nickname was a source of pride and a badge of honor.
As Craig advanced in years he went on to study at the University of Northern Iowa where he earned a degree in Construction Management with an emphasis in Business. Following graduation, he began employment with The Hansen Company in 1988 as a field project manager. From that first day until now he has never looked back, proudly by making The Hansen Company the only place he has ever worked.
Over the years he worked his way up through various departments learning all aspects of the business and in 2008 he was promoted to President of The Hansen Company. In 2010, he became a partner in the company. In this role he leads the company in all aspects of the business and strategic vision. Craig attributes all of the company’s success to the great people he works with; those within the company and also a long list of loyal Hansen Company clients, architectural partners and subcontractors.
Craig and his wife Carol are the proud parents of three grown children. Both Craig and Carol come from large, close knit families. They love spending time together and they regularly host family gatherings and guests at their cabin on the Grand River. An avid hunter, fisherman, nature lover and cook; Craig loves sharing this weekend getaway with family and friends which allows him a rare moment to unplug from a 24/7 world.
