Jake Pesek

Director of Operations

Jake Pesek serves on the Executive Leadership Team as Director of Operations. He leads all project management efforts and plays a key role in shaping The Hansen Company’s strategic direction.

Jake’s construction career began at age 14 when he worked alongside his father in commercial concrete. From pouring slabs to framing houses throughout high school and college, he built his foundation through hands-on experience. While earning his business degree from Drake University, Jake continued working in construction, blending real-world expertise with formal education. Since joining The Hansen Company in 2014, he has been instrumental in advancing operational excellence, drawing on a deep understanding of the field and a passion for leadership.

A lifelong resident of the Des Moines area, Jake values strong relationships and community engagement. He is especially committed to mentoring team members and developing future leaders, a focus he believes is key to both individual growth and the company’s long-term success.  Outside work, Jake and his wife, Kristen, stay busy raising their four children and supporting their activities. Whether coaching softball, baseball, football, or basketball, Jake brings the same energy and leadership to his personal pursuits as his professional ones. When it’s time to recharge, you’ll likely find him fishing in the deep waters of South Dakota, the blue seas of the Caribbean, or the pristine lakes of Canada.
