Tony’s career in construction started in high school when he worked as a laborer and carpenter every summer and winter break through the end of his college years.  He attributes this early experience to his love of construction today.  After Tony graduated from Simpson College with a degree in mathematics, he continued his education at Iowa State University where he majored in construction engineering.   Tony started with The Hansen Company as a project engineer in 1998.  Over the years, Tony has worked in many capacities including estimating, project management and marketing.  In 2010 he became a partner in the company.

As a lifelong resident of the Des Moines area, Tony understands the importance of building strong relationships and takes pride in knowing that all decisions at The Hansen Company are made locally by people that vendors, architects, and owners know and trust.

Tony and his wife Mandy live busy, family-filled lives.  On any given evening or weekend you will likely find Tony coaching or volunteering in one of the many activities that their six children are involved in.
